**Game Aims**
The main objective of the game is to checkmate the rival king. This means that the king of the opposite team is under attack with no possible moves to evade being captured.
**Chess Field**
There are 64 cells on the board, which is divided into eight rows and eight columns. They alternate in color (black and white). The board should be positioned so that every player has a white square in the lower right corner.
**Initial Position**
On the first and second lines of each side, chess pieces are placed. The first row includes rooks, knights, bishops, the queen (on a square of her own color), the king, bishops and rooks. The second row contains pawns.
**Basic Actions**
Players move in turns, starting with the light figures. Each time you make a move one piece can be moved. If an opponent's piece is in the square you plan to move to, you can take it and remove it from the playing field.
